One day about two years ago I also stumbled upon the Laff channel, and would have forgotten about it completely if it weren't for me encountering once again Cam's familiar voice in the bumpers, which I recognized immediately after years of hearing him on Disney Channel. I tune in on occasion only to hear him, and don't even bother to watch their shows.
You'll be surprised how many younger people feel similarly, from various age groups (and, thus, with differing nostalgia). That realisation that what was new and exciting when you were a kid is now considered 'old hat' can catch you off-guard at the worst of times. There is no easy solution, especially when - as you say - you grow attached to how things were. I don't really know what else to say, I'm afraid...
