I think you would be well suited at writing field guides or nature encyclopedias; You have the voice for it, the voice that makes everything sound wonderful, no matter how small. If you ever upload that poem anywhere, you should let me know. I wrote a poem the otehr night, but had a dream that someone told me it was awful (& it is in all likeliness awful), so it's remained hidden from sight & is still a first draft.
Thanks angeleyesprings ! Btw your sense of design is wonderful. The layout for cutechara.html is so nostalgic and pretty !
thanks vashti, i'm always happy to hear your thoughts on my posts. it may take a while, but i will send you the poem in april or earlier !
@vashti pt 2 : oh no, that sounds like a pretty troubling dream. i'd be interested in reading the poem if you'd like to share it. but no pressure, and no rush. i remember one poem i wrote and left alone for a long, long time, i came back to it later with sharper eyes, and that round of editing made it way shorter and way better
Despite being very much a noviciate of his body of work — as far as full albums go, I've heard just Carrie & Lowell + Michigan — I love it, and also feel that C&L is one of my favorite albums ever. The Only Thing is really great. And thanks for your kind words on my diary entry, Vashti, it makes me really happy to read. Personally, I admire the emotional honesty of your writing.
Anyway, thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I'm looking forward to reading your Q&A !!
Hi, please consider supporting our neocities community project by giving us a follow... it would help a lot! thank you ❤
Love the naïveté page & hell yeah Sufjan! You should listen to the demo version of Chicago when you get the chance(^ω^)
Ty !! (◍•ᴗ•◍) Just gave the Chicago demo a listen — wow, the crackling organ and constant motoric strumming of the guitar gave it a heavy feeling.
I could really sense the wired, pent-up tension at the core of the song that the layered voices, intermittent percussion, and horns of the final version give relief from. Thanks for sharing it with me Vashti
I'm glad you enjoyed it; it's almost like a completely new song, hm? I find the album version to be cinematic, but the demo version to have a sort of raw intensity to it. I feel like I could scream along to the demo, you know, voice cracking?
Ohh yes it does sound great for that ^_^
