i always tried to like bjork's music (and i did earlier) but when i listen to post again it just feels like every trendy genre in 1995 being mashed togehter. homogenic is alright, i really like joga and bachelorette. though for me vespertine is the best, i still feel nostalgic about it like i do about medulla
bachelorette is also a favorite of mine! so many bjork fans think of post in the same way, i can't help but love it, though :P. vespertine is really good as well, but i feel like i only enjoy the "popular" songs off of that album.
kinda same, i feel about post like you do about vespertine. i don't get that praise for post honestly, it's a weird album when you consider her entire discography. a bit of turning point in her musical style and she really defined and set her tone with homogenic. i honestly only like enjoy and hyperballad from it
homogenic is her mature album and i still appreciate it for it. debut and post got so much of praise mostly because they were most exotic thing before portishead copycats came to the scene and lot of electronic genres went mainstream (at least in the uk)
it definitely feels like post was her venture into genres like trip hop, especially with stuff like possibly maybe or army of me. it's no wonder some of the songs off the album were included in a lot of film soundtracks around the time. i think you're right though, she's really her best when she's more experimental. i still don't really understand why "it's oh so quiet" is one of her most popular releases.
added a guestbook.. possibly redundant since i have a chatbox as well but i think guestbooks are a bit cooler :P
