It is wild to me that people will say they want to "take back the internet" and "Bring back the old web" But then in the same breath want all online spaces to be 100% sfw and family friendly... like if you wanted clean scrubbed down family values I don't see an issue with that but why do you feel the need to push that mindset onto others and shame them for not following your example? Not ranting or raving about-

im always wary of people talking about the old web like it was a paradise. A, they dont remember what happened before rickrolling; B, unfettered nostalgia is fascist propaganda step 1.
theres this weird resurgence of purity culture in "progressive" spaces that is very alarming
Exactly this. It's why I push hard to make my site as "edgy" and "chaotic" and "dirty" as possible. I just find it more liberating and fun!
