Thank you for posting this. As someone who found the yesterweb right as it was imploding, I have been trying to piece together what happened because I also found the entire thing very bizarre.
The way it was structured, I think it was doomed from the start. You can't essentially create an organisation (esp a hierarchal one, which is what HAPPENS with fandoms, even those with the best intentions and people active in them) from a movement, especially a movement that should by its nature mean different things for everyone. I'm sure a lot of people hate me for saying that, but eh. *shrug*
Taking what is essentially an anarchistic movement and imposing a rigid structure upon it, is completely illogical and, as demonstrated, ultimately self defeating. Taking peoples' happy, creative, interactive space and subverting it with a secret agenda of control and dogmatic indoctrination is shitbaggery at its worst.
YES. Oh my gosh, YES. Exactly. I'm so relieved I'm not the only person who thinks that way!
The first sentence is inaccurate. You are endlessly fascinating. :)
You, sir, are a charmer and a smile-gifter. ♥
You deserve a million smiles, love. I'm happy I could give you one. <3
You are very dear to me.
