Wrote possibly the most important thing I will ever put on here: a detailed treatise on the many grave problems that autistic people face, and why Autism Acceptance and Autistic Pride are so desperately needed. I gently beseech everyone to read it, even if autism isn't something you're interested in.

It is dreadful that people still don't take the time to understand, or even bother to make adjustments for autistic children.

Agreed, @Bright-Eyes. I guess it's just easier to force people's problems under the carpet than to actually show compassion, which is what the entire anti-autism industry (ABA, Autism Speaks, etc) run on.

read it all. "The conditions of the modern world are wholly unnatural" - as you said this makes your gripes relatable (to a less intense degree) to nonautistic people like me. WTF is a job interview probing for anyway???

85% of college-educated autistic people have too much common sense for job interviews :D

Thank you SO much, @HoleinMyHeart!! I truly appreciate the fact that you actually read the entire thing. I really didn't mean to make the article this long, but there truly was just a staggering amount of things to cover... Regarding job interviews, I honestly think the point is mostly to see if the interviewee is socially "normal" and a good fit for the "company culture" (translation: whether they'd be a fun

gossip partner in the workplace. I've seen cases where the person doing the interview wasn't even in the same department as the job that was being interviewed for, and had no idea what the technical requirements for the job were. I can't see what else the point might've been there.

Really great article and don’t think it was too long at all. Saying it again that I really hope the stuff you expressed an autism gets a wider audience at some point. There’s a lot I’d like to express about various points that you brought up but my brain is just to gelatinous from being at the blockades so for another time perhaps

You convinced me long ago that autism is not a mental illness, and that autistics should be accepted as they are. I only wish that mainstream attitudes and perceptions on the matter would also change, so that many of the injustices you described could have been averted.

@FragmentandReflect Thank you so much for reading the whole thing! I truly appreciate your open-mindedness and support. I have been trying my best to optimise things for SEO and such, and spreading the word the best I can without going on social media. Honestly, the amount of exposure that my writing is getting is already more than I ever dreamed I could achieve.

@lolwut Thank you very much for your constant support and readership! I am at least somewhat optimistic since things are already slowly changing due to autistic people's self-advocacy. The more actual understanding of autism spreads, the more the false mainstream narrative will crumble.
