i hate genai too and i understand why people are leaving over this, but... site owners are always going to have opinions you don't agree with. it is up to y'all over whether or not you want to continue using the site, but maybe keep this same energy for other sites like twitter and tumblr as well.
as for me, i'll continue with neocities. if there is ever any sign of genai being implemented, then i'll dip too. for now, i don't think neocities will be affected and thus i'll stay.
also, i recommend you guys implement a robots.txt file to prevent any ai bots from scrapping your site! ^_^
On robots.txt: I went looking around and it looks like this page has a nice list of sites to block https://github.com/ai-robots-txt/ai.robots.txt

@pip-pepping thanks for the link! i could have sworn i had a robots.txt for this site but it seems i don't... i'll be adding it right away! ^_^
