well, yeah, your website has a whole lot a lot of nifty pages and subdirectories to explore, great featured art, a charming theme, and a set of featured interests that a lot of people here share. congratulations!
kyle intentionally broke the follower count organizer so its a free for all now :P
this is one of the funniest things ever and my money has gone to the Okra Project via this already
all tmbg fans following me: this is required listening, the bonus track at the very least
really? imo 1/3 of neocities sites are just a front page that says "ive migrated to [their website with a top-level domain] (click here to view website archive)"
i would bet 1/3 of all neocities sites are just the default page with maybe two lines and the background changed (and last updated november 2017)
oh if we're counting people who never actually did anything with their site then sites like that are probably in the 80% range
I thought it was just one page saying "Hi I'm [name] these are my socials" and nothing else.
@scifirenegade I feel like that's kind of a legitimate use of a neocities site though, an "about me" page collecting someone's links. It's disappointing but feels like less of an a tease or empty promise
God, I hate those "My name is _ here are my socials" sites. Like, just make a linktree and be done with it, it's not that hard.
realistic simulation of geocities, though! if you do not follow olia lialina on twitter, i would encourage it, she posts many great old web sites, many of which have this same message https://twitter.com/GIFmodel/status/1351053604195622914
hate nostalgia sites? careful now, them's the kind of words that'll make you enemies in this here town *tilts brim of stetson, bartender yells at me to stop pretending to be a cowboy and would you please buy a drink or get out*
@marijnflorence Well, that's most of the sites on this host. Although, I wish some "nostalgia" sites went for a web aesthetic other than 90s internet
hey, who said it was easy. I'm working on that redesign!! (see you in 2022)
no, and I actually had to Google what that was. contrary to what everything about me would suggest I don't know much about "music"
that sounded needlessly sarcastic but in all honesty it's hilarious that my internet presence has become so centered around music opinions when I still think of myself as a visual art person
h-how
I listen to all my music on YouTube or on CDs I own (which also means my Spotify Wrapped is always meaningless)
