I think the site looks pretty good as it is, but I think the logo could be altered so that it is easier to see against backgrounds.
I really like the site as is, but yeah it is really hard to see the logo and the nav bar against that background. You could put a box around the nav bar or you could change the background again or something.
Yo jack about the background/text stuff, maybe try this old trick of mine where you make an empty div that takes up the whole screen right after the body tag, z-index: -1; and then you make it black and transparent with rgba()
i actually didn't think i'd get to part 7 when i started jojo. since jojolion isn't finished i might read jorge joestar after part 7 and then just wait.
what i'd want someone to do is to make a script that goes through all the id's (there's almost 900k) and then basically make an entire history of neocities. however, this also means that you could use a script, basically play the higher or lower game to find the latest id, and show the last 100 events. meaning you could have a feed that would show the last 100 events on neocities.
and if you are baller, have a database with a script that updates it constantly, then write some code to recreate the profile activity, and then you could filter it. so we can "kind of" already filter our feeds, but it takes too much time and resources. lol (felt like this "essay" was a waste of time but there's a cool fact about neocities)
a script that downloads all those events sounds like a quick way to get flagged as attempting to DDoS the site and get ip banned lmao
I’ll make a repo tomorrow or the day after. Could be fun. Language will be Ruby if anyone wants to contribute..
@roseknight well, if i have text posts on page 2 and i'm on page 1, the extension would just basically shorten the amount of events on page 1, and doesn't bring any events from page 2. it's not that i find it cluttered, i just wanna see text posts since they're obviously more social than constant site updates.
@lambdafun: Oh, I see! You can still see the event if you view it from a site that does have a profile, interesting!
im definitely interested in this -- keep us all updated on the progress! in the meantime, maybe someone should make a pull request to the github and add the option to turn off site follows themselves...
So stuff like this doesn't happen? https://neocities.org/site/owlman?event_id=515297
Its alright. I have uncorrected spelling mistakes throughought my site that i dont feel like fixing
