An opinion to be bashed for; I don't like simplified characters, they look unnatural to me... What's worse, sometimes I see Japanese kanji that are not simplified that look like simplified characters to me (example: 活 in 生活) and it makes me go >:^(. Another fun fact; Vietnamese language used to be written with Chinese characters too. I think it suits Vietnamese much better than the weird offspring of the Latin alphab
Interesting to know! I'm also trying to learn mandarin, but I'm not consistent with it.
I always preferred to stay anonymous so, when names were in any way mandatory, I was always a bit of a chimera. I definitely relate with not being satisfied with the names one comes up with, so having the freedom to change nicknames at the drop of a hat was always a welcome convenience.
