my art never really gets the attention i want it to get on social media and it sucks. like yes i feel rewarded because i made art but also its hard to stay satisfied knowing that nobody really gives a shit about my art. like is it good or not? are you interested or not? sometimes i wonder why i post my art anymore
Honestly i feel the very same way. I have a good following with really cool awesome ppl but at the same time i feel as though my art is not worth the while or worth looking at, but i think social media bends your mind into thinking that! I now know that art is just for fun and not for expense of others. Its for you. But honestly if you withdraw from social media where you focus on like ratio so much its good
i feel this to a T! an important part of my art journey (that i still struggle with...) is dismantling the internal thought that your worth as an artist is tied to how people respond to ur art if at all. social media 100% preys on that dopamine hit you get when some art you've made gets a lot of attention and the funny social media notifications start rolling in
/2 but at the end of the day your art is wholly disposable the second the next day rolls around, or the next big thing shows up. and it feeds into the idea that you have to be creating 24/7 and it makes such an unsustainable situation for artists.
DEFINITELY FELT
