A page will look exactly how I want it on desktop, then I check mobile and over there it's a hot mess
i gave up on making it look mine look good on mobile a while back but sometimes i'm almost ambitious enough to attempt it again...
The advice I see from web designers is to design the site first for mobile screens and then modify it for larger screens. I think that's probably because it's easier to make things look good when you're figuring out how to make them larger than it is to figure out how to fit something large into a small space after the fact. It's worth it, though! I browse Neocities on my phone a lot and appreciate responsive design.
tysm!! i love the cosy scrapbook-type aesthetics of your site :3
