The bookcases arrived today - they aren't as tall as expected, but they are at least put upable... When you have medical issues, furniture that is too bulky and heavy is impossible to assemble without help and I prefer to be independent regarding such things if I can.
I started reading The Waking of Angatyr last night and I only intended to read a couple of chapters, but ended up reading until I was about 100 pages in - it has that rare quality of a book where you constantly want to know what happens next.
I get tired of people wanting me to sell my books. Nope. They are staying where they are.
Our local Waterstones is really good with mythology and academic pagan history books at the moment. I just wish they were better at stocking sci-fi and fantasy books.
I have been lucky at the RSPCA shop, again, this time a bunch of Sharpe books. I now have a good start with collecting them. I'll pop in next week to see if they have more of them.
Marie Brennan is the best author that I've come across in a long time. Wish I'd read her books sooner.
Although I have listened to some of my favourite books this year (Herriot, Tolkien, Adams), the books by Marie Brennan is the reading/listening highlight of the year.
