Are you sure you want to do this?
okay but that aside im so upset that my coding has been stagnating so i will FORCE MYSELF to haul my butt back here and start working on the stuff i said i would ages ago
if you need a new laptop for cheap, pre-2017 macbooks. around $200 due to their age, but theyre really hardy computers. however, if you plan to use it long term, you ABSOLUTELY need to get the whole thing gutted and replaced. ive spent a lot of money on mine to keep it alive ;;
source: my old macbook literally melted its motherboard and my repair guy said it was unsalvagable, even for parts. lmao
If you're looking for something even cheaper (and more customizable than a Mac, sry controlcoreangel) I would recommend a refurbished or gently-used corporate/enterprise Lenovo Thinkpad from Ebay. I've been using my L470 for many years, and I think I paid about $60 for it plus $10 for a bigger battery. Lenovo Thinkpads have great keyboards, an excellent rep in the IT sphere (as a member of the corpo IT sphere myself)
And also Thinkpads are stupid easy and cheap to fix, plus the parts are in abundance!
I bought my laptop for only $80 used on mercari!!! Theres many cheap replacement options out there
thanks everyone ill be going to buy a new one this weekend so ill keep a look out for ur recs! my asus has been going strong for 5 years... RIP
