Oh, and since I just passed 150 followers in here + almost got around to 40.000 views: THANK YOU ALL!! β¨β‘β Such crazy milestones, I'm honored :']
ironically i really like games that deliver stories in super pared back ways, like how Signalis or From Soft games do it - the story is always there, but it doesn't make itself clear unless you really consciouslly seek it out. it's a kind of style where it's like the true story is buried beneath the game, and you have to really dig to unearth pieces of it and put it together
I tend to enjoy pretty much similar things in games as you! Point and click has a place in my heart. I really enjoy stories that are heavily character based, too, and generally things that are atmospheric... that you can get lost in
@corru Oh, I like this type of game too, specially when it relies on environmental storytelling. The game seems to be only focused on its mechanic, until you start to search for the hidden bits n' pieces. I'll check out Signalis and some of the games made by From Soft!
@4disease Ooh, how cool! I love exploration-based games too, that don't feel linear and are usually very chill. Just do things at your own pace and have fun! Combine this with atmospheric gameplay and you have me spending hours on it lol ^^
its actually hard for me to say! i think having character-centric storytelling is really attractive to me, but also anything thats just sillay :)
CLICKED ENTER TO EARLY!!! notable games that come to mind are grim fandango, hat in time, mother 3, glitched (still a demo but really good branching choices, has hours of content already), and bugsnax...
@chomsite I can see why it's hard lol, I had to look back on which types brought me the most joy so far, since I have many :] I like silly games too! They're memorable in their own quirky way, while lacking anything that might stress us gameplay-wise. Also... this reminded me I wanted to play Wobbledogs one day xD You've got a great game selection there, with a bunch I still hope to play-
Ok- geez, this took me a lot longer than I expected :'D Oh well, I finally managed to finish getting all the main stuff in the Graphics page! This is what you'll have for now, my brain is pretty much fried... I still wanna tweak the header and fix some other things, but for now, this shall do neatly!
Oh, and there's some little Easter eggs in the aesthetic stamp! They're six, three referencing Neocities sites I like and three being art friends of mine :]
Aww, thank you so much!! I'm really glad you enjoyed my site so far, it means a lot! And indeed, almost all graphics in my site were hand-drawn! The only exceptions are the places where I used free n' edited stock images :P I'll give proper credit to them all soon!
And yep, you didn't hear me wrong- you'll be able to adopt some graphic thingies of mine to display on your site! I'm hoping to make some critters, stickers and lil' things of my charas ^^
Sorry for the digression but - Holy shit, either my memory is worse than I thought or your site is quite different from what I remember seeing. I think your site perfectly encompasses the kind of web most of us miss :')
Oh my, that's so sweet- thank you so much!! :'] I'm really glad you think I managed to capture that essence... I've dreamed of making a place like this for a long time, and I never cease to find wonder in its growth. I'm always learning something new while having fun, and can't wait to keep on expanding it! I have lots of plans for its future :D
I literally did nothing big today, I just switched the song that plays on the home page lol. However, I'm THIS close to finishing up the Graphics corner >:]
freakin sweet indeed!!! the wild angle and warped perspective must have been a PITA but it turned out awesome, that and the colors make it really striking
@corru Ohoh, thank youu!! In fact, it took me a while to get all these twisted angles right lol, mister birdman was the toughest of them all... I'm flattered you enjoyed it, it was such a wild ride for me to recreate your aesthetic with the best of my ability... CMYK and 3D-esque dithered visuals for the win!
On my way to setting up the graphics corner properly, I switched the host I was using for my stamps collection. Since I wanna use it to host the buttons n' stuff, I might as well do some organization lol!
this is a really good tutorial, thank you for sharing it! i'm gonna link to it on the funky webring's index page :]
For today, I added the button to Corru's game, I was actually waiting for that update to drop for me to do that lol
I'll take a brief break to do some other stuff, you can rest assured I'll get to work on new assets for my webbed corner later on ;]
