the ending of this post made me smile, such a lovely sentiment!! thank you, and to you too!! im glad that even if you've been feeling more withdrawn its been in a good way. nothing wrong with taking some time to yourself and finding comfort there. and ofc im excited to see what you come up with for muse ariadne!
awwh i'm glad ! and yes definitely :] it's nice to have a moment to just sort of... get to know myself again, kind of? relax with myself. it's odd. but yes, me too !! we'll figure it all out together ^)^
went back to january's bookbug read and wrote a review ! updated both bookbug page & bookshelf page. definitely a weird read. murata's writing feels like banana yoshimoto's, though a bit more direct/plot-oriented and less surreal
Murata rules. I highly recommend the other two books of hers that have been translated into English (Earthlings and Life Ceremony), hopefully more get picked up soon!
LMAO yeah i didn’t find it that weird content wise but just like. weird as a compliment ! i’ve read a bit earthlings n heard a lot abt it bc my friend read it LMAO.. should get back to and finish it
YA PLS (i need 2 learn more than my mothers 2 recipes for cold potatoes lol😪)
I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt disgusted towards David. Perhaps for slightly different reasons. I feel like the audience inherently roots for the main character (I foolishly hoped he would change) even if they’re not a great person, but at least for me, I could not see past how David left Giovanni. It was horribly cruel and irredeemable
no yeah !! that was definitely a big part of it for me. i couldn’t stand watching how he treated him, i think i just addressed that mainly in my review as being rooted in internalized homophobia. it’s so gross. i couldn’t even feel bad for him at some point. like this is on you!
can't decide if i like the color mix though, so might end up getting rid of it. happy w it for now
It's beautiful!
