I think it's been long enough that the people hatereading my site have moved on, so I want to say now that I find it SO fucking funny that I simultaneously got told "this is cis gay behavior, only they would care about this" and "this is troon behavior, of course you would care about this", within the span of a few days. Great job guys!

It's almost like queer people, regardless of the specifics of their identity, have a variety of opinions and experiences, and you can't ascribe someone disagreeing with your opinion as them just being (enter a bad thing). So almost like the point I was trying to make the whole time or something :P

ive been feeling this a lot since i got cancelled on tiktok (of course) again (OF COURSE). "this is neurotypical behavior" "this is non-lesbian behavior" "this is cis gay behavior" "this is endogenic behavior" "this is cishet behavior" "this is lesboy behavior" its almost like... the WHOLE human experience is varied and opinions differ and you cant ascribe someone disagreeing with you as them being [identity]!

I mean this in the most constructive way possible but you are sort of contradicting the sentiment of your article. "you can't ascribe someone disagreeing with your opinion as them just being (enter a bad thing)", but you also said you wanted cishet women to go to hell. /nm

@lazer-bunny The difference is that my statement was meant to be a joke, where the punchline is that OBVIOUSLY, that is a brash overgeneralization. These people are saying it 100% dead serious; even recommending me people to research, to prove their point. My "cishet women go to hell" comment was essentially me trying to parody the type of people that say this, and I thought that would be made obvious by how (cont)

@controlcoreangel UGH YES I SEE THAT SORTA STUFF ALL THE TIME... People when they realize that someone disagreeing with you doesn't automatically mean they're modeling a class of person you dislike (opinions are actually rather naunced)

Oh hell yes. This whole deal made me realize how much I dislike any rankings and numbers on Neocities, actually. I had such a bad feeling about the whole thing and despite its harmlessness, it made me worry about the culture on here. I still wish there was a bigger focus on promoting webrings and communities rather than sole websites.
Very good overview, I definitely have similar feelings on it. It's really important for people joining here (or anywhere, really) to relax and get comfy with the slow environment of the small web instead of trying to replicate the instant gratification of larger social media platform popularity. path number one to burnout and self-hatred to worship the vague 'number go up' rather than individual impact
