(also yes I will be releasing the code for this one too. This will happen before the tiermaker since the javascript is actually done, I'm just tweaking the interface at this point)
In particular I'm interested in how awful (or maybe not awful) people find it on mobile? I couldn't really come up with any good options that still let you screenshot the result........ as annoying as scrolling back and forth is, I think it's preferable to having to toggle a menu open and closed
I was just playing with this and it worked pretty well on mobile. I got a full screenshot of him, too, no problem! I thought it was a decent experience.
I'm wondering if you may be interested in furrytail's free dressup/maker script! I like it because you can copy-paste and/or save the image result, and you can have visual previews for each option ^^ If you're interested, I translated the instructions here: https://inkposting.neocities.org/maker/
@inkposting Thanks for showing this to me! I don't really like using other people's code unless it's easy enough to pick apart for my own purposes and I'm not certain that this is (that and I'm just a DIY maniac), but it would be interesting to study the image output functionality when I have the time to do so.
Also the lack of image selection in the menu was an intentional design choice because I'd have to crop, resize, and upload another copy of every image and it would also make the page take 50000 years to load ;(
Is UTAU still cool? Do people still make the websites? I used to love the websites...
I've been getting quite a few questions about web hosting, so I put together a list of hosts for interested parties to look at! https://kalechips.net/stuff/hosting
UH OH! Swinging the bat at a hornet's nest with this one (no offense intended to hornets. I love you, hornets.) Neocities, Bloat, and Better Things: A response to a reader question about web design. https://kalechips.net/posts/2023-02-08-Neocities
Your thoughts on this are so enlightening, I know I’ll check back for tips once I get too big for Neocities… but you’re right, the centralized hub is so tantalizing right now, especially for getting new people to try it. Thanks for being informative as hell
I agree. I keep my site mostly to inform about updates but after years of using real hosting I never would go back. I personally would recommend Dreamhost to anyone looking for a good hosting, though it's a bit pricier than Teacake but I like having my domain registrations and everything at one place
@matfloor I was this close to using Dreamhost but I felt like I'd be paying for way more stuff than I'm actually using (and I hate spending money on things I'm not going to use...) I've heard great things, though!
Go Ian give us nothing
