@myrrh since mobile dimensions are wildly different from computer dimensions, all my elements are out of place on mobile (also partly because i use position absolute a lot). whereas if you define the position with pixels at least the absolute value of the distances will stay the same, you just have to scroll on mobile ig

pixels is the only absolute unit, everything else like vw % rem are all relative, though i suppose if you stick to the same unit for both horizontal & vertical it would be better. im a fool so i was very inconsistent w/ my units
