that last line hits hard, I love your version of it. I get the sense of an ember of hope burning through the desperation and exhaustion. Great work!

I love haikus! I really like how you interpreted the prompt, it's a very unique concept and you put it very well - I can almost hear a clock ticking faintly in the distance. really like it!
