i don’t necessarily think my site is impossible to navigate as is or anything, but I’d def like to make a plaintext more “accessible” version of my site

Sorry i’m an artist at heart & when initially building my site went about it as if it was a collage canvas. I’m not skilled enough to do this yet but i’m sure a style switcher is the way
you can have a fun/pretty site and it still be accessible. it totally doesn't need to be completely plain. you just need to consider alt text on all of your images, make sure your text colour has high enough contrast against it's background, and that all your anchor elements have text in them (even if it's hidden)
can't find a guestbook so I'm commenting here: absolutely OBSESSED with your site. A huge inspiration to me for sure. Will be spending hours reading about all your characters
