URLs to some of the shrine pages have changed, so if you have anything that links to those do double-check
Google Search Console has turned up nothing from the date — my only hypothesis is that people went to see my site because of my funny post about the activity page?? but that doesn't explain the sustained nature of the bump
Aha! I think i might've found the source: https://serveur410.com/les-passages-secrets-du-web/ ← this french blog post about small websites and search engines, which has enough comments to make me believe it could have given me those views
True this, I'll waste my daily update on a small text fix or something and then do something really cool later that day and just arrghhh.
right??? it's like — i go to fix a typo on the esperanto version of the terminal accessibility page or whatever and then 18 hours later i'll add 30 new sites to the linkroll and nobody will see it
Saaame. Or I upload a page with a mistake in it, then I fix it but the screenshot is already there looking bad
Worse still is updating the blog after already making changes elsewhere on the site, because that just completely nukes anything older from showing up on the 4-image view
I sometimes have to work backwards with making pages - i.e. write "Dumb story #12"'s code in private, then add non-existent url hyperlinks to relevant pages, *then* add the desired page to my site. It's a real pain in the neck having to do that much work just to have a pleasant (or relevant) page screenshot!
