Are you sure you want to do this?
tl;dr they forcible updated my sites to new php without notice or permission, fully aware that shit can cause scripts to break. they're charging a fee for rollback. don't use dreamhost lads
so bc of this ALL of my updates on ALL of my sites are broken bc the script is broken. not happy. i probably should find a different script i just really like cutenews
yes this is exactly why neocities doesn't use php i know the irony was lost on me until now lol
there are more domain hosting sites for you too look into don't get discouraged
that sucks...i'm glad it didn't ruin too much but that sounds like such an unnecessary hassle....good luck :(
@yourcreativeblog oh i'm defo gonna switch but when you have 10+ gigs of used space, 20 subdomains, and most of them use their own databases........ it gets Tedious to migrate ): part of why i didn't leave dreamhost sooner lol
@beanbottles unfortunately it means they ruined a Lot ;A; on top of the updates script i use on all my sites, it also broke some of my tcg stuff and all my fanlisting stuff as well, and then i couldn't access any of the content to manually back up ;A;
ok so the overall update is i did get things rolled back, and i'm switching hosts bc i don't want to pay $20 /mo for hosting + fees for using older versions of php. for now the rollback means things will function but i am debating a different way of hosting updates
I have all my scripting/PHP/ASP classic sites still on godaddy. I hate their service, but I really can't be bothered to migrate and convert most of them, so I stay year after year.
