I have bulk reviewed six films I've seen in the past month, doing all 27 really did seem like a chore
I've only just realised that my site has no images due to archive.org going offline, fuck those hackers man
By "more detail" I mean it doesn't just go "well they recorded a couple of albums then stopped touring because the lead singer had a breakdown, then they didn't do much after that really"
XTC was a very good band, I think that in that time there were very interesting things besides Joy Division, one of them that I recently discovered is Magazine, ( from ex Buzzcock's singer) their album "Simple Life" (1978!) is just great. Recommended.
Sorry for the late response, but thanks for the recommendation. Also I agree that that time was a really interesting time for music. Sex Pistols and all that doesn't really interest me at all, but bands like XTC, Buzzcocks, The Jam, Wire, early industrial and early synth stuff was all going on at once
Looking forward to Anora. I really like Red Rocket and The Florida Project.
Anora is good but not as stunningly perfect as many on Letterboxd led me to believe - I haven't seen any of Sean Baker's other films though, so maybe I should give those a try
