The other day I started a petition against AI/ML/coding assistants on neocities and any future plans with them. Please sign it and share it around if this is a topic that concerns you! You can find it at the bottom of my most recent blog post. I will be sending the results of the petition to Kyle Drake on January 18th 2025.

Added a small update to my blog post from yesterday, I have checked the source code of the editor myself and confirmed that penelope is still there. I also explained how to view the source code if you want to look for yourself.

I think it's just a matter of time at this stage. the worst part is, nekoweb won't be immune either. from what i read on hackernews, tech investors know AI is failing and theyre trying to make it fashionable with startups so they can at least break even if not turn a profit.

Self hosting is something I'm still considering, I already have a vps setup for noobsandnerds so worst comes to worst I have a fallback to nekoweb too.

I never saw anything like Penelope and I was even making pages at that time. Maybe I just wasnt part of the A-B testing...

11 signatures so far, I added a way to embed the petition on your own site at the bottom of the page if any of you want to talk about it or just have it somewhere.
Gonna bookmark this for something to comeback on "check my recent blog too lol" ai thing can be anything from good and bad plus its now is a wait and see
I don't think ai is good, hardstop. It's certainly not as a coding assistant which penelope is.
