The Muller-Lyer Illusion and the Adelson Checker Shadow Illusion convey this well. When one recognizes just how dependent perceptions are on context, then many things become clear, not just the relative length and tone of lines within an image.

Reading the in-depth critiques is interesting (e.g.: https://www.heta.moe/cgdct/), but sometimes it really is just that simple. One of the reasons that I like ιζ³ε°ε₯³ so much is because there is usually an element of kindness that is not always realized within daily interactions...Anyway, hope you are feeling better! π
