@puddingpudds Ah, I don't think I know about that! I'll have to look it up when I get off work tonight!
I would stay away from it, it's a pretty violent and unpleasant game. It was made to pass their message, and PETA's way of passing messages is pretty... y'know, very aggressive.
@puddingpudds Thanks! I’d eventually like to have a lot of different themes for different games, categories, genres…. I haven’t decided how to split it yet! The 20 cent games are just a test category for now, and I’m gonna do one of my mini consoles up like this, too.
I realized I accidentally left my Super Mario World page empty a few months ago and went in to fix it- sorry for the blast from the past popping up front and center in today's update!
I applaud you for beating this game normally, I had to use rewinds and save states to even have a shot at beating it;;;;;;;
@puddingpudds I did, too, save states between levels and in the last part, I don’t like shooters! I’m just old, though. I had this in grade school and played it a ton, so even though I couldn’t get to the end then, I was used to how weird the jumps can be in advance.
@puddingpudds Ah, but do you find rewinds helpful? I’ve never used them, even on Donkey Kong Country, but it’s a really cool concept.
I could not get used to the wacky jump physics of this game and SMB 1& 2, messes up my brain real bad. I pretty much used save states and rewind after the segment where you need to ride boulders above spikes.
I find rewinds pretty useful to correct mistakes I felt like it was out of my control or because of weird game physics. And also in situations like: “You game overed and don’t want to go back to the start of the game? Just press the button and your back moments before you died!”. You need to tinker with the settings of the rewind a bit for gameboy games to work as intended, at least on Retroarch.
Fun story, I didn’t know you had to configure it! So everytime I pressed the rewind button I would either lose a lot of progress, or go back to the previous stage. I was too stubborn to change it, so my solution was to lightly press the rewind key and hope I didn't undo miles of progress.
@puddingpudds Ah, that sounds tricky in and of itself, the rewinds, but like it’s useful after getting used to it! I use save states only, but if I start panicking, will dot them through levels— there was one back in Sonic 1 where I went overboard and was save stating every 30 seconds, so I’ve tried to cool it from then. Overdoing it made the game even more stressful!
It’s not tricky, I just suck at explaining sorry;;;; You just hold the button and the emulator retraces your steps in the game up to a certain point. I can see your experience with Sonic 1, it's a tough game, and that’s coming from someone that couldn’t get past the eggman platforming section on the water world!
have you seen the super mario land glitches?? theyre so wild i've always wanted to try them out
@makoenergy I haven’t, I’ll have to research! Game glitches are so fascinating, thank you for the heads up! <3
Mario Land is such a strange Mario game. like, Mario goes to easter island and defeats the Moyais???
no problem at all! <3
