@lostletters - thank you!! I made these in photopea.com by first setting the gingham pattern as the background, then another layer of a white rounded rectangle was placed on top, but used a gaussian blur filter so it would gradually transition into the border design! :) then i used http://www.gridzzly.com/ to generate the grid, and made sure to keep the proportions of the grid the same when downsizing!
to get even more specific, i searched online for images of plaid patterns and then used a threshold filter to create a pure black/white pattern and then placed another layer as a color filter, so i can easily change the color of the paper ^_^
