Thanks for following, I hope your site building goes well. From what I can see of your artwork on your tumblr it's very LOTR esque and gay which I appreciate haha

Hey owlroost, this is scopefilter's other site. Your site design is so relaxing to look at.

Thank you! It's shifted a lot over the last two years, but I'm pretty happy with it at the moment.

Hi there, thank you for following! If I could add a suggestion, if you could add some kind of background fill or less contrasty pattern behind the text to your resources page it would make it easier to read. Other than that, purple is one of my favorite colours and the rabbits are cute. Good luck building your site!

Oh, all my pages are still being redesigned, that’s why it looks the way it does. All the pages being redone are on the to-do list on my front page. And the resources page is the next one coming, almost done coding it.

I also to plan to add a lot more accessibility features too (especially a gif pause button), as soon as I can.

Happy to hear it! I need to add a gif pause button to some of my pages too.

Hey Crow Queen, thank you for following! Your site reminds me of a victorian era style point and click adventure (the graphic menu at least). I saw some of your pages on lolita and you probably know this but there are a lot of issues of the Gothic & Lolita Bible on the Internet Archive which I have spent some time browsing. Can I ask how you found my site?

Thank you so much! I was browsing various websites across the site through the "Following" section on profiles when I found yours. I like your art and was interested in your attention to detail regarding accessibility. Your section containing art resources was really helpful too.

For reading scans of the Gothic & Lolita Bible, lolitahistory.com is usually where I would read these, but the formatting of the magazines isn’t that easy to read. I understand that some people have made efforts to share specific resources out of them though, such as sewing patterns.

Mostly I am just looking at the pictures!

I never even thought to read a scan, I just enjoy looking at the pictures too and seeing all the names they come up with for the season releases / style. Also, thank you - I'm pleased you find my art resources and accessibility resources pages helpful.

Added a light mode (prefers-color-scheme: light) media query to my site with a custom theme and banner. If you press F12 and toggle the light (sun) icon in Firefox you can see it. Also changed the :focus on form inputs to use outline instead of border so other items on the page don't shift around.

Hey there sanguineroyal.

Wow I pressed enter before finishing my message (thought shift+enter would let me enter new lines, guess not). I hope you enjoy your degree! I did, I focused on psychophysics and sensory/cognitive psychology in my third year (bachelor degrees are 3 years in Australia, with honours making up a 4th year). I'm quite impressed by your custom graphics like stickers and things.

pixelglade 1 year ago

Not sure if just me but a few of your homepage and other pages do this "double load" thing, where it looks like it refreshes after trying to load once. Do you see that?

sanguineroyal 1 year ago

I do, it's because my website isn't actually hosted on neocities, lol. I just have pages on neocities that redirect to the "actual" page if that makes sense?

pixelglade 1 year ago

It makes sense but why do you need to do that? Doesn't the page load more efficiently hosting on here?

sanguineroyal 1 year ago

Neocities doesnt have some functionalities i’m looking to use such as php.

Fair enough!

Hey kalechips, like your site! I wanted to ask about your trans and rainbow 88x31 buttons on your homepage - can I use them? Where did you get them from (noticed they're outgoing links). Will check out more of your site later!
lostletters 1 year ago

Those buttons link to the source: https://rainy.gay/pride/pridebuttons they're free to use

pixelglade 1 year ago

Oh thanks, on my PC those buttons on your page linked to "https://rainy.gay/", maybe you could direct link to that page instead?

Hi there, I read your accessibility post and I noticed the same. I'd like to join the Accessible Net directory along with my other site (scopefilter) which meet the vast majority of the criteria EXCEPT a light-dark toggle. I realize this kind of toggle is useful but the sites do respond to native High Contrast modes in Windows to switch the colour scheme which I hope is enough until I have the chance to code it.
pixelglade 1 year ago

The other thing I wanted to add with the accessibility post which is something I've noticed, and I actually find very disorienting is how a lot of people's websites change layout from page to page. But I was thinking of making my own a11y post at some point so I guess that's one of the things I'll mention :) really like your site design btw (Also the Punk Wasp link in your blog post doesn't lead to a blog post)

scopefilter 1 year ago

Hello this is my other site! :3

pinkvampyr 1 year ago

You actually don't need to code a toggle! A simple prefers-color scheme light/dark media query with some colors switched around works fine :> I provided some links on how to do it underneath that guideline, kalechips shows how to do it quickly! https://kalechips.net/stuff/snippets?p=darkmode

also thanks, I'll fix the link when I get to my laptop!!

Thanks! Took awhile for me to figure out why it wasn't working but Kalechip's code doesn't work unless you enclose the :root {} inside the media query... which is what they've done on their site. You can use the Dev Tools which has a Light and Dark mode switch to test if it's working.
