The prevention page has a lot of tips that have helped me as well. I notice suicide ideation thoughts as a signal that I'm not doing well and that I should focus on better habits (make it more about behaviour rather than feeding the negative thought spiral). I have gotten a lot better at dealing with different kinds of negative thoughts and sometimes the strategy is different depending on what it is.
And coming out as trans helped a lot but I still sometimes have the same idle thoughts of death (almost like in the Barbie movie - irrepressable thoughts of death), it's a part of depressive symptoms for me so I try to work with it (I know it's just how my brain works, for whatever reason). Coming out as trans and living as my preferred gender identity helped a lot as well.
