That's what i've been trying to do with my site too (>^-^)/*\(^-^<) hi five :3
waaaa thank you so much!! i've been meaning to make a page where its actually my fave art pieces and not just a dump- but i really appreciate it! :3
if it helps i also voted yes! as much as i love the purpose of the project, a lack of transparency in the way its run feels shady, and i'd like to know what i did to get removed and cut off to see if there's a way to fix what i did. its been standard to give reasons for bans on most things for a while now and like everyone ever says communication is key
for example: if you got banned off of any other social media, its pretty standard to get a "you were banned for x which is against y policy. contact here for more information" message. im not saying they have to be as professional but its weird to just cut ties entirely for a project like this
i used the term "other social media" on accident and cant edit my message so to clarify neocities is a hosting site with social aspects . only clarifying this because i felt like it was weird to refer to neocities as social media my bad
@owthehedge I feel similar about that if there was no communication, just being cut off suddenly would make me feel like what did I do wrong, or that the person doesn’t want me to interact with them anymore, hence why I voted I wouldn’t support anymore because to me that’d be interacting. I’d still look for lesser seen websites on neocities, but it wouldn’t be through them if I wasn’t welcome to interact w them.
@velvet-boutique DW nothings happened. Just talking about federfederies post where they asked people to vote yes or no. Only a few people voted yes and a ton on no at the time of me voting on it. I was just worried my yes would get misunderstood as not supporting the project genuinely, since the comments are turned off, we can’t really explain why to our votes
get ready for the ban haha /j . although ye if they did that to me then i'd have some questions...
@chocolaterevel I just saw the post and I gotta say like idk what theyre trying to imply here? Like so theyre just going to stop putting your site up without any explanation? I don't understand the yes and no thing, it feels like I'm being shoved into a box when I have some concerns.
was just to know who will put others before themselves even in a situation like I mentioned, we're really unsure about some people's true intentions, they may support us but their behavior says otherwise, so we can't be sure who is here for everyone and who is here just for themselves, but we also understand both of your points, Crow, Erin, sorry to make you a little anxious haha, and thank you both for your honesty.
@federiefederi no problem, i just think its better to be transparent about these things really. it stops alot of confusion and even potential stress so i think its best in the long run for you to communicate these things more clearly - people are already leaving the project and i can see why something like this would feel wrong to them
you've communicated your intentions very clearly (help smaller sites get more views) and thats great, but i can see how people can read your actions as suspicious (ie, the mass unfollowing). im going to take you at your word when you say these things (because it feels mean to just assume the worst) but i can see how this would seem strange to people
@federiefederi I thought it was something like that dw! I'm glad you understand where i'm coming from :]
@lavenderblues LMAOOO itd be so funny if i got yeeted and deleted for voting on a poll
@owthehedge we've let them know about our project on our site, we also told everyone that if they have any doubts they can just simple ask us, but some didn't read, didn't understand, and worse... didn't ask, we can't do much on our part if they want to make their decisions based only on their own assumptions and other people's opinions.
@owthehedge to be completely honest with you, the mass unfollowing was a test, we didn't really need to do it as we knew we could have reach our goal without it (it may have take us probably 3 months without it) but like we mentioned before, we don't know exactly who is here for others and not just for themselves, and who is here because they actually care and truly understand the project.
@owthehedge and don't worry, we're not afraid if suddenly everyone leaves and the project collapses, that would just mean (honestly) more time for us AND would also mean (not trying to sound rude...) that we were right about most people since the beginning.
Added 2 new pieces of art to the blog! If it doesn't update, refresh the page <3
Finally felt like fixing the characters placement on the kena page wip
