I wrote a rather critical book review (nothing personal to the authors)
sorry i just read the Dear Evan Hansen blurb and I LOLed. I watched it a couple of years ago andim still baffled to this day why they allowed this film to be made
@sanguineroyal LOL NO don't apologize, I'm always down to dunk on Dear Evan Hansen, like it's utterly shocking that movie exists in its current state, like when you think about it and all the bizarreness comes spiraling back sdfsd
On the new book review - I'd heard a bit about this because it seems to be well known (or just well promoted?) in the self-help niche, it's sad to hear it ends up reading like almost every other self-help book for women. Genuinely can't stand the overall Tiktokification of books.
@sakana It's frustrating!! The title, blurb, and marketing of the book feels misleading. I went in with the expectation that this was going to be pop psych or science book, but it's a firmly self-help--ironic considering how multiple times in the text the authors touted that this isn't "basic self-help" too. And even then there are many better books in that genre imo!!
