even if this site glitch doesnt get resolved for me, i think finding your site is worth it haha
it wouldn't really be "suboptimalism" if it wasn't hosted on a platform with occasional glitches...
Also I cackled at your "buffaloaded" article. As a native who works for a tribe that has many casinos, you really nailed our whole thing.. haha
it's a cutthroat industry too... recently read an article about a tribe trying to open an off-reservation casino near a populated area, and every other tribe that already had a casino in the area tried to block it to protect their business, though they did kind of have a point that the prospective location was very far away from that tribe's historic lands
I'm pretty sure you're referring to my tribe, no joke we did that within the last year or three.. haha
i found the original article i read: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-04-09/oregon-tribe-casino-bid-sparks-furor-over-ancestral-homeland ... but while looking for it i stumbled upon another similar one: https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2024-07-23/the-fight-over-a-mega-casino-sparks-a-debate-about-tribal-sovereignty
Good reads; unfortunately, this is a common issue. The state of Oklahoma especially loves to infringe upon tribal sovereignty!
the bar is so low at this point that that's probably more than 95% of people can manage now
surprised how receptive everyone online is to the music "hot take", i buried it behind that disclaimer because when i've brought it up to people irl i always get the "omg let people enjoy things" reaction
This one made me cackle uncontrollably... also the timeline of products on their company website is absolutely batshit -- https://www.ryohin-keikaku.jp/eng/about-muji/history/ -- I LOVE 2010's product: the right angle sock
oh yes the right angle sock, it's kind of a big deal, there's a big display and poster promoting it in the store. the 2020 product on the product timeline is the "cricket cracker", which appears to be exactly what it says on the tin...
